Pali

Yaṁ esā sahate jammī,
taṇhā loke visattikā;
Sokā tassa pavaḍḍhanti,
abhivaṭṭhaṁva bīraṇaṁ.

English

Whoever is beaten by this wretched craving,
this attachment to the world,
their sorrow grows,
like grass in the rain.
