Pali

Mā piyehi samāgañchi,
appiyehi kudācanaṁ;
Piyānaṁ adassanaṁ dukkhaṁ,
appiyānañca dassanaṁ.

English

Don’t ever get too close
to those you like or dislike.
For not seeing the liked is suffering,
and so is seeing the disliked.
